With the busyness of life — especially when it pertains to finding time within a packed work day — it’s often difficult to find time to fit in the things you love to do. It’s the definition of the “work/life balance” we always strive to achieve.

“I think the key is just finding something you enjoy doing that involves being active and moving.”

Karla Santi, CEO

This week, the Sioux Falls Business Journal just featured Blend CEO Karla Santi in an article about the recreational tennis group she's in with a handful of other local executives. It’s all about work/life balance.

From the article, “Professional Women Building Relationships Through Tennis”:

“I think the key is just finding something you enjoy doing that involves being active and moving,” Santi said. “It doesn't have to be high intensity, but just the fact that you're moving physically is important.”

Every Wednesday, the women play three sets as doubles. They switch partners every set, so each person takes turns playing with one another.

“Yes, we keep score, but we have a lot of fun along the way,” Santi said.

Between sets, Santi said the women take time to talk and catch up on what’s going on in their lives, a conversation that sometimes leads to meeting on the weekend off the court, both socially and for other forms of exercise.
