There’s a value in not just understanding the city and state you are a part of, but also participating in it.
Being an open and participating part of our community is a big part of our mission at Blend, and while it helps us stay abreast of changes in how the small business landscape is expanding (and how the midwest is being embraced as an incubator), it also helps us make our little corner of the world a better place.
That’s important to us. This is our city, and we’re proud of it.
With that in mind, Blend CEO Karla Santi has been busy acting as Blend’s ambassador across the Sioux Falls area, all starting with her appointment to the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2017.
Santi joins the 25-person leadership group for a three-year appointment.
In addition, Karla will be moving forward as chair of the Chamber’s Business Leadership Council. The purpose of the Business Leadership Council, according to the Chamber, is to enhance corporate responsibility in the Sioux Empire and to increase the number and percentage of businesses active in the Sioux Falls area community by subscribing to and becoming high-quality, corporate citizens.
Finally, Santi was a featured speaker during a panel for the Evan C. Nolte Leadership Sioux Falls’ first session.
The panel, “Executive Presence in 2017,” allowed Leadership Sioux Falls participants access to some of the city’s foremost executives, with questions ranging from how to find leaders within a company to how the perceptions of “executives” are changing.
One of Blend’s core beliefs is one of advocacy: not just in helping them choose the right content management system or design model, but in understanding their business landscape and making solid, usable decisions. What’s more, while we actively fight for and protect the interests of our clients, but we also strive to advocate on behalf of all small businesses in our region.
It’s our small part in helping Sioux Falls become even better.
