The League of American Bicyclists recently recognized Blend Interactive with a Silver Bicycle Friendly Business award, joining more than 950 visionary businesses from across the country.
With the announcement of 161 new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses today in 46 states and Washington, D.C., Blend Interactive joins a cutting-edge group of more than 950 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming the American workplace.
Blend Interactive encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as two company bikes that are available to ride throughout the day and incentives such as a commuter tax benefit.
Employees are also able to have their bike tuned up by User Interface Developer Marshall Crosby. Sales and Marketing Assistant Kerrie Vilhauer is an ambassador for Liv Cycling and serves as Blend’s bike information coordinator.
“By biking to work or hopping on one of our two bikes during the workday, we’re able to counteract the effects of working at a desk job,” says Karla Santi, chief executive officer. “Plus, it’s pretty fun to head out on a short bike ride with a co-worker to hash through project details and get some fresh air. ”
“Visionary business leaders are recognizing the real-time and long term impact that a culture of bicycling can create,” said Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists. “We applaud this new round of businesses for investing in a more sustainable future for the country and a healthier future for their employees.”
