Combining Complex Products Into a Usable Catalog

Developing a new system for managing, organizing, and presenting a catalog of products.

Client

  • Mercury Systems

Start your web project.

A company like Mercury Systems doesn’t just sell widgets. The sell hundreds of unique products in dozens of different product lines. Which means it’s not as simple as creating a single-use product content type: we needed to help Mercury Systems develop a flexible content model that allowed each product to retain its uniqueness while still being structured enough to be understood by the CMS.

Our work in standardizing and improving the content model of products within the Mercury Systems site helped cut down on the number of unique content types, but it also provided a smoother site map, as products all followed the same logical path from product line to product detail.

And, for those that continued to be complex, we were able to develop a unique table of content for quick reference.
