Bringing a startup mentality to a multi-tiered project, our work with Entrepreneurs' Organization was one of iteration, extensibility, and a great site built with Umbraco.

Starting a business takes more than an "OPEN" sign and a dream. It's a complex and layered process – from business plan and logistics to the final moving parts – and it's not something that just happens all at once.

Large, complex websites are no different. This is why we were a great fit for Entrepreneurs' Organization, an association dedicated to helping connect and educate entrepreneurs across the world. Just as entrepreneurs make big ideas a reality through a series of complex processes, we took on the challenge of a multi-tiered and constantly evolving website to help facilitate the community that Entrepreneurs' Organization has spent years building.

Our first step was a high-level view of EO's technology stack. With an eye toward future extensibility, Blend and EO reviewed a suite of membership management tools, content management systems, and other existing integrations, choosing Umbraco to help tie everything together on the public side. And, after an initial flurry of high-level wireframes, Blend dove into the first step: spinning up a new public persona for EO's lead generation.

Combining multiple teams and iterating through design ideas, Blend and EO drove toward a common minimum viable product, getting the new site up and running for potential customers while still working through a change in membership management software. Meanwhile, Bend helped manage and support EO's content team as they cut, rearranged, and created new content.

The job's not finished – a fast follow approach to tackling "phase 2" features continues, and the sky is the limit with our partnership. Given that change is the only constant within the world of entrepreneurs, it's nice to know we can rely on a solid foundation to promote the future of the organization.

  • Direct management of content creation and migration with dedicated content team
  • Iterative phasing to provide an initial site relaunch minimum viable product while still planning for future improvements
