Providing Guidance for the Categories that Provide Guidance

A taxonomy workshop designed to better understand both the categories and the structure of the site.

There are two ways in which taxonomy comes into play on a website: within the categories themselves, and within the content model. You can create all of the terms you’d like, but only if those terms are integrated in a way that the system can use.

Blend worked on-site with a Children's Hospital client to perform a taxonomy workshop that helped define the model in which categories could work — and work harder — for site content. This workshop developed a plan for future development of taxonomic structure, while also providing a bit of insight into how Episerver could be leveraged for smarter aggregated content.

Documentation from this project was provided for future consideration, and provided a first-draft list of an ontological model.
