Hundreds of researchers, thousands of publications, and one incredible children’s hospital. One of our clients is a one-of-a-kind center for children’s healthcare research, which means it needs an elegant and easy-to-navigate way to showcase a little of what it loves to do.
For a new microsite, this children’s hospital brought together a team of experts and combined the efforts of their trusted design vendor and Blend’s Optimizely team. With ongoing collaboration from week to week, all three partners balanced design with accessibility, making sure every element focused on both looking great and working great.
But the site isn’t just a testament to integrating great design — it’s an acknowledgment of what it takes to achieve medical breakthroughs. From the people and the work to the documentation and future of research, this site highlights the full scope of research that happens within a world-class children’s hospital.
To make this work, Blend integrated a full research directory, with individual researchers represented in full with a list of linked publications, biographies, and research interests, helping promote not only their current research projects but also the connections that happen between researchers across different institutes.
And, because research happens beyond the webpage, Blend made sure those publications connected in a way that showed the full story. From filtered topic searches to researcher-specific listings, site visitors have full access to an incredible amount of information. If it has been researched through this website, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.
While the goal was clear — to promote the institute's capabilities — the new site shines a light on something even more important: a multidisciplinary community dedicated to improving the lives of children.
