A History of Optimizely Support and Advancement

From the initial launch to support and new initiatives, Blend has worked alongside APTA for years to provide advanced experience for site users.

Being a long-term partner means flexing and adjusting to the times. It means going from a significant site launch to ongoing support and then ramping up again to meet the needs of a new web initiative. More than anything, it means being a consistent and trusted ally through the tangled web of … well, the web.

For years, Blend has worked with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), alongside its existing design partners, to provide expert guidance on the complicated world of memberships and Optimizely, helping shape and support APTA and its members through the APTA website.

Focused on communication and education, APTA’s web model is built upon a rich backlog of articles and features, providing members with access to an entire industry’s worth of knowledge. From managing membership access to articles and previews for new members to the ongoing updates and advances that Optimizely provides, APTA and Blend have kept usability and findability at the forefront.

Beyond this, once the initial site went live, Blend served as an ongoing development partner for several years, including during a recent rebuild of APTA’s “Find a PT” directory feature. Once again, working alongside APTA’s design partner, Blend connected and built a directory subsite that allows anyone — members and non-members alike — access to a whole pool of physical therapists nationwide. A map function helps users find the closest practitioners, while profile pages let PTs themselves customize their message.

Not every project turns into a long-term partnership, but we’re happy to continue to work alongside APTA as they treat their site like a business asset, continually improving upon what they have and working toward a better website and a more effective membership feature.

Project results.
