Partners

OptimizelyPlatinum partners for sixteen years and counting.

A full digital experience platform — with the content management foundation to back it up.

The situation.

Optimizely has grown from a content management system into a full digital experience platform — with marketing tools, experimentation, personalization, and data management layered onto a CMS that's been enterprise-grade since the beginning. That growth hasn't come at the expense of what made it worth building on in the first place: a strong content foundation, a reliable editorial experience, and the flexibility to handle complex implementations.

We've been building on Optimizely since it arrived in North America in 2008. We were their first North American partner, their 2009 North American Partner of the Year, and we're a Platinum Solution Partner today — with four certified developers, representing 73% of our back-end development team, and an Optimizely Most Valuable Professional (OMVP).

The solution.

Optimizely has expanded dramatically — experimentation, commerce, data platform — without losing its core strength in content management. Teams that start with CMS can grow into personalization, testing, and data-driven optimization as they're ready, without switching platforms.

The platform's modular architecture means you adopt what you need when you need it. You're not paying for features you won't use for two years, and you're not locked into a single implementation path. It's still around — and still leading analyst rankings — for a reason.

What Blend brings to Optimizely projects.

Sixteen years of production work gives us pattern recognition that newer partners can't replicate. We've built implementations that range from straightforward CMS builds to complex multi-site, multi-language installations with deep integrations. We know the platform's strengths, its limitations, and the workarounds for both.

We also approach every Optimizely project strategy-first — ensuring the content model, editorial workflow, and governance plan are defined before development begins. The platform is powerful, but it performs best when the strategic foundation is solid.

A better way to migrate.

Migrations are challenging – there's no getting around it. So our Director of Development — and Optimizely OMVP — Bob Davidson, created a custom tool called BLIT (Blend's Little Import Tool) to make migrations easier to manage, more adaptable, and less restricting for editors.

Frequently asked questions.

Is Optimizely right for our project?

Optimizely is strongest for mid-size to enterprise organizations that need a full digital experience platform — content management, personalization, experimentation, and marketing tools in an integrated stack. The evaluation starts with your content model, your editorial workflow, and whether the licensing cost is justified by the features you'll actually use.

What's the total cost of ownership for Optimizely?

Optimizely is a commercial platform with licensing costs that vary based on the products and features you use. We're transparent about total cost of ownership — including licensing, development, hosting, and ongoing support — so you can make an informed decision. We don't recommend Optimizely unless the total cost makes sense for your organization.

Can Blend take over support for an existing Optimizely site?

Yes. We regularly take over Optimizely sites built by other agencies or internal teams. We start with a technical review to understand the codebase and architecture, then transition into ongoing support.

Do we need to use all of Optimizely's features?

No. Most organizations start with the CMS and add personalization, experimentation, or commerce capabilities as their maturity grows. Optimizely's modular architecture supports incremental adoption. We help you plan a roadmap that starts with what you need now and builds toward what you'll need later.
