Here's what we're looking for:
We're looking for someone within driving distance of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Or someone who wants to move here. (Yes, your smiling face needs to be physically present in our office, sorry.)
We're looking for a full-time Web developer. Now, when we say "Web developer," a lot of people think "designer." While knowing your way around Photoshop is a handy skill, it's not critical for this position. Instead, we're looking for someone who knows how to plan, write, and manage code.
We're looking for someone with some experience in core Web development languages like HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We're looking for someone who's comfortable writing a Web page in a text editor using CSS instead of tables for layout. (Someone who does everything through a WYSIWYG editor will probably not be a good fit.)
We need someone with experience in server-side programming languages. ASP.Net, PHP, Ruby on Rails, and Java are all great. Classic ASP or ColdFusion are fine too, but regardless of the language, we need someone who has a solid grasp on the concepts of good object-oriented programming and is excited at the idea of trying something new. A good understanding of database concepts is a plus, and experience implementing content management systems is ideal.
We're looking for someone who can drive projects to completion, clarify fuzzy requirements, make intelligent assumptions, and keep projects moving forward. The pace here is mildly insane compared to corporate life, but the focus is on turning out great work.
But most of all, we're looking for someone who loves to develop. We're looking for someone who writes code all day, and works on hobby projects at night. We're looking for someone who gets fits of inspiration during off hours and can't wait to try them out. We're looking for someone for whom well-written code and well-realized projects are things to be proud of.
